Is the ultrasound covered by Insurance or Flex spending?

No. Because all our ultrasounds are elective, they are not covered by insurance and may not be reimbursed with a flexible spending account.

What if the sonographer sees something wrong?

If the sonographer sees anything concerning during your scan, we will give that information directly to your doctor.

Does this take the place of an ultrasound at my doctor's office?

No. At no time is your ultrasound session at our facility to be used in place of diagnostic ultrasound. Women seeking an elective ultrasound with our studio MUST be receiving prenatal care from a healthcare provider and have already undergone a medical diagnostic ultrasound.

Does your facility use registered sonographers?

Yes. Every ultrasound session at Over the Womb is performed by a diagnostic medical sonographer that has been board registered.

Do I need a doctor’s order to have my ultrasound done here?

No. Because this is an elective scan, you are not required to have an order from your doctor. However, we do require you to be under a doctor's care and will ask you to provide your doctor's information before your session.

What is an elective ultrasound?

An elective ultrasound is a non-medical ultrasound. We provide elective ultrasounds with the intent of offering expectant parents the opportunity to see what their baby looks like, determine gender and bond with baby. *THIS MEANS WE CAN NOT TAKE ANY MEASUREMENTS OF THE BABY, DETERMINE DUE DATE, OR LOOK FOR ABNORMALITIES*
