A cake smash can be added to your 12-month milestone pictures. The cake smash is an additional $50. It includes extra time and images of baby chowing down. *Over the Womb does not provide the smash cake for this session, you will bring it with you to your session.
Milestone sessions can be done any time between 3 months and 12 months of age. We recommend starting your milestone pictures at 3-4 months old. Because at this age they can hold their head up, lay on their belly or back and smile!
Over the Womb photographers are professionally trained in newborn posing and safety. Your scheduled photographer will call and introduce herself and answer any questions you have during your consultation.
We do all our newborn sessions in our Hendersonville studio. Milestone sessions can be done indoors or outdoors in a nearby location. We do not do sessions in your home at this time.
Be sure and wear cool clothes or dress in layers. We have to keep the studio warm for your baby. If you can, it would be helpful to bring your partner, a friend, or a grandparent to the session. We like to have another adult close by the baby in case your baby moves while we are photographing them. That way, mama can relax and enjoy watching the session. Also, please bring formula if your baby is formula-fed and a pacifier if they use one to soothe.
Please come to the session as relaxed as possible. There is no hurry. Having a newborn sometimes means arriving a few minutes late to an appointment. We prefer you to feed baby right before the session. Once your baby is nice and sleepy and your baby's clothes have been removed, we will begin the session. If at any time your baby becomes unsettled, we can take a break for a feeding or a diaper change. The photo session will take anywhere from 1-3 hours, depending on how sleepy and settled your baby is.
Yes, parents and siblings are welcome in the pictures except for the petite newborn package- that package is for baby pictures only.
This is common and newborn dates are flexible. Just let us know within a couple of days of baby being born, and we will be able to schedule your pictures within the next week or two.
The best time to book your newborn session is about two months before your due date. We will then schedule a tentative session date. After your baby is born, just call or text us, and we will move the session as needed. Newborn sessions that are booked in advance have priority over last-minute add-ons.
You will only be able to book your free consultation call online. The consultation must be done before your session. During the consultation, you will plan your session with the photographer and schedule your session date (for pictures).
